Direct Drive Bases
Direct drive is no longer just a wish but also a necessity if you want to enter the world of sim racing. Here we present a brief overview of all Fanatec’s wheel bases.

Budget option
CSL DD (5 Nm) - 349,95 $

Starting at 349,95 it’s a great starting option if you’re looking for a direct drive.
One the other you still need to buy a wheel and pedals. 5nm of torque is entry-level and should be considered for beginners. However it can still provide you with all necessary feedback you’re getting from the game.
From my personal experience I can say that mounting it with 3 bolts on the rig isn’t a problem, but if you’re using it on your desk, you really have to make sure that your desk is stable and very hard to move.

CSL DD (8 Nm) - 499,95 $

You can also have a look at the 8nm option. Same standards are applied here but just with a little more torque. The only downside of this base is that it is not compatible with Playstation systems. But again, if you’re mostly using it on PC that won’t be a problem. It also comes with a table clamp and screws for safer mounting.

Gran Turismo DD Pro (8 Nm) - 599,95 $

The first Direct Drive budget option for Playstation users. At “only” 599,95$ you can get yourself a piece of equipment that 5-10 years ago was just a fantasy.
Okay, but why is it 100 more than the CSL DD option? Well, you’re looking at the price of the chip for Playstation compatibility.
Do you need it if you’re just a PC guy? Probably not, but again if you’re looking to sell it later it might be easier to find a market for the Playstation version.
It also comes with the same bolts and a table clamp for desk usage. The base itself has a different design than the CSL DD but functionality is the same.
If you’re looking for DD Pro with 5 Nm of torque, it’s only possible to buy it in a bundle 🙁
