The anticipation is at fever-pitch as we head towards the exhilarating ‘Olympic Esports Finals 2023,’ the flagship event of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 Motor Sports Event. The heart-thumping final showdown is scheduled for Sunday, 25th June at the renowned Suntec Centre, Singapore.
The Olympic Esports Series 2023, an innovative initiative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), represents the pinnacle of virtual and simulated sports competition. Spawned from a collaborative effort between the IOC, International Federations (IFs), and game publishers, this series encompasses an array of sports, with motorsport being a major highlight. The motorsport event is scrupulously regulated by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and orchestrated by Polyphony Digital Inc. (PDI) utilizing the advanced capabilities of Gran Turismo 7.
As an integral part of Olympic Esports Week 2023, the grandeur of the ‘Olympic Esports Finals 2023’ unfolds in two stages. Initially, the ‘Final Pre-Qualifying Round’ will decide the 11 worthy finalists. Subsequently, these finalists will compete alongside Singapore’s representative driver in the ‘Olympic Esports Final 2023 Live Event,’ a thrilling 12-way race, streamed live from the heart of the Lion City.
But the excitement isn’t reserved only for the professionals! Kicking off on Saturday, 17th June, we’re introducing the ‘Olympic Esports Series 2023’ Special Challenge. This unique opportunity lets game enthusiasts experience the tension and excitement of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 Motor Sport Event before the main showdown.
This interactive challenge will recreate the adrenaline-fueled atmosphere of the live Finals. It’s a chance to race on the specially decorated Deep Forest Raceway in the TOYOTA GR010 HYBRID ’21 adorned with a unique livery exclusively for this event. The special event, accessible from the GT7 World Map, runs from 1:00am (BST) on Saturday, 17th June until 12:59am (BST) on Sunday, 2nd July. (Do note: You must be Collector Level 6 or higher to participate.)
