On April 4th, it was revealed that Japan Racing Promotion (JRP), the people in charge of organizing the Japanese Super Formula Championship (Super Formula), would be working together with Polyphony Digital on a new project. The two organizations have collaborated in the past, most notably in 2019 with the release of the “SF19” add-on for Gran Turismo Sport. They have also extended their collaboration by organizing events like as the “Super Formula Virtual Series” and the “GT College League.” JRP has said that the purpose of this relationship is to deepen the link between real-world motorsports and e-motorsports, as well as to expose Super Formula to players all over the globe while assisting e-motorsport players in their aspiration to become professional racing drivers. As a way to commemorate this relationship, the ‘SF23’ vehicle from the current Super Formula season will be included in Gran Turismo 7 with the update that will go out in April.
At Fuji Speedway on April 8 will be the beginning of the true Super Formula season, which will include 22 drivers who will be competing with an entirely new vehicle for the 2023 season. This event will take place in the year 2023. When the drivers get used to the new car, there will likely be some exhilarating on-track performances for the fans to look forward to.
