The 300mm Butterfly Style GT Wheel

The KS GT wheel is a fusion of aesthetics and functionality. With its 300mm butterfly design, the wheel looks sleek, perfectly replicating a GT style racing wheel's vibe. But it's not just about looks; this wheel also ensures optimal control, enabling gamers to maneuver and react quickly in their games. The realistic feel and touch serve to heighten the overall gaming experience, creating a truly immersive environment for gamers. The KS Wheel's 300mm size and clean design evoke memories of professional GT racing wheels. However, MOZA has gone a step further by making it more sim-friendly with a reduced number of buttons, giving it a streamlined and user-friendly interface.

Mapping MOZA KS RGB Buttons

Although I couldn't find a way to map the buttons in the MOZA Pit House, with some help from MOZA’s support I found a way to map each individual button's RGB light. All you have to do is push the left joystick to the right and the right joystick to the left simultaneously and hold until the gear shift indicator light flashes yellow. And then just press the buttons you want to change. When you’re done, simply press the joysticks once again to the inside and hold.

An Open Ecosystem

Compatibility is at the heart of the KS GT wheel's design. Created to seamlessly integrate with all MOZA wheelbases, it provides an open ecosystem that also supports third-party wheelbases through a direct PC connection. This universality ensures that you aren't limited to a particular setup or wheelbase, thereby broadening the scope of the wheel's usability. The KS wheel's adaptability makes it a go-to choice for gamers with diverse gaming setups.

The KS GT wheel's controls are designed with precision and comfort in mind. The anodized aluminum magnetic paddles, featuring non-contact hall sensors, offer superior control and stability. They enhance the gaming experience by providing a consistent and reliable response. The dual clutch mode is a boon for pro racers, especially when playing top racing titles like iRacing and the F1 series. Moreover, the wheel's TPE rubber grips provide a soft, delicate touch while delivering superior grip for precision steering. While using the R12, I even tried to use the full 12 nm of torque, and the rubber grips were perfect for that. The whole wheel has a very clean ergonomic design, and it’s easy to say that the experience was simply great.

MOZA KS Price

$279 / €309 / £279 / AUD459 / JPY42900 VAT Exclude

Although the prices are more than fair for a product like this I have to add that the same product has a very different cost depending on where you live. For example: if you like in New York, the taxes are 8.875% which is in total $303,76 (€277.44), while in Croatia (25%) the same wheel is significantly more expensive $422,82(€386,25) Example: US: 8,875% - $303,76, €277.44 Croatia: 25% - $422,82 ,€386,25 But I do have to highlight that MOZA reduced the shipping costs by 80% and even offers free shipping to some destinations.

MOZA KS Wheel Downsides

Although I found the whole experience very positive, there is something to highlight. The paddle shifters are made of anodized aluminium. This material is strong, so I think it'll last quite a while. The paddle shifters use a non-contact sensor and there are also silencer pads that are pre-installed, making your shifting experience smooth but not that quiet. Still, this is a step forward from the other wheels from MOZA I used in the past, but I still missed the "clicky" feeling while shifting. The dual-clutch system altogether is really nice to work with and gives you nice overall feedback, so no complaints there.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the MOZA KS GT Racing Wheel showcases a fusion of cutting-edge design, superior craftsmanship, and versatile compatibility, setting a new standard for e-sports equipment. Its unique blend of carbon fiber reinforced polymers and high-strength steel provides robust durability and a firm grip, while the customizable RGB buttons and LED lights offer an immersive gaming experience. The compatibility with all MOZA wheelbases and third-party bases enhances its usability, and the precision controls ensure comfort and accuracy during gameplay. Truly, the KS GT Racing Wheel is a game-changer for e-sports enthusiasts seeking a realistic, immersive, and personalized racing experience.
