Pricing Overview

First, let us address the price first: The MOZA Vision GS Wheel costs USD $749.00, EUR €829.00, GBP £749.00, AUD $1,299.00, and JPY ¥119,900.00.

Though it is a bit costly investment, so let's see if the features make it worth it. Considering the advanced features and build quality, it can be pretty reasonably priced in its market segment. The MOZA VGS is competitively priced when compared with other high-end racing wheels available, which have performance equal to the value delivered. We can think of MOZA FSR, Simagic FX Pro and others. It's important to consider not just the initial cost, but also the longevity and durability of the wheel, which we'll get into lots more detail on in a minute.

Design and Build Quality

First up, design. Taking inspiration from modern concept car designs, VGS has a futuristic look that immediately stands out. It is 310 mm in diameter. In my opinion, the best size would be around 290-300mm in diameter for better handling and smoother change of direction. While some might find the design a bit too futuristic, I find it a positive change on the market. The wheel is made from aerospace-grade aluminium, which MOZA really likes to point out in all of their products. In my opinion the wheel is strong and rigid, and it also has a nice texture. The carbon fibre composite faceplate makes it look even better. And it seems to me that this is not just a tool, but a real piece that will attract some attention.

Features

The MOZA VGS Wheel has some great features incorporated inside:

- Aerospace grade aluminum alloy construction for exceptional strength.

- Magnetic paddles from forged carbon, with dual clutch for standing start and precision.

- Noncontact hall sensors with 0.03 mm high precision deliver a stable, smooth, and precise controlling effect. They come with a pre-installed silencer pad that will ensure no noise is created while shifting.

- Eight backlit customizable buttons along with 72 programmable input signals for versatile control options. With the ability to represent up to 16.7 million colors, and with their trigger stroke being just 0.25mm, which is 60% faster than a normal button.

- MOZA Custom Quick Release Connection System

High-definition touch screen display that can help bring all the information into one view, such as lap times, speed, and gear status and much more. The display comes with 10 presets which can be customised and there is even an option to create your own display. The gyro and MOZA software algorithm keep the orientation fully usable and it will remain possible to read even with hard movements. Even though I would like it to be a little faster on direction change. There is also an RPM indicator, Hand-stitched grips and a carbon fibre faceplate.

User Experience

It was very easy to activate the MOZA VGS Wheel: just a few clicks in the MOZA Pit House software, and you are good to go. The software, in fact, really helps a lot with functionality testing, configurations, and wheel setups.

Buttons

The one thing that isn't to be neglected with the VGS Wheel is the number of buttons that you get on it. It's way more than you'll ever need, but again, it's nice to have this level of flexibility. Each button can be set for multiple functions, making the wheel customizable to individual driving styles or preferences. After a few light changes, it is even more beautiful than the stickers that come with it. Besides, this RGB-backlit makes the buttons look great, so you can quickly see and press them in dark surroundings.

Shifter and Clutch

VGS Wheel comes with the standard MOZA shifters equipped with silencing pads, but I would love to see them integrated into the shifters themselves, to make them even more quiet. The dual-clutch system works perfectly, which is really great for standing starts. The shifters are placed just at the perfect distance. All of this makes it perfect for racing titles such as iRacing or the F1. And remember, the feel of the clutch and shifter is solid but you can also recalibrate them in the MOZA software.

Quick Release System

The quick release system from MOZA is efficient and already a standard part with most of MOZA wheels, linking to the base in just a few moments. The quick release, being fully made of aluminum, also has an added level of durability with no problem handling any type of rough use. To clarify, no flex whatsoever.

Driving Experience

I can’t say that driving is better or worse than with other wheels, since all of the feedback is coming from the base and the base is making a difference at the end of the day. But wider diameter really gives room for more precise and detailed inputs. Also the touch screen is an amazing feature that really steps up the game from most manufacturers. The wheel itself will not make you faster or slower but it should give more confidence while driving. But I would definitely recommend wearing gloves since the leather can get slippery.

Compatibility

The wheel is compatible with all MOZA wheelbases and can be also directly connected to a PC with MOZA's universal hub, meaning it is compatible with third-party bases outside of MOZA's ecosystem.

Conclusion

It's a little on the expensive side, on the other side, the price is justified by the quality and performance it gives. VGS Wheel isn't just for a great race experience; it adds that touch of sophistication and innovation in sim racing.

In my opinion, not the wheel for everyone since it has a unique design, but something that looks unique and fresh on the market. Considering the price and quality of the build I would say it’s a well made wheel, with more buttons than you will ever need. But hey, fully functional, good looking and overall great experience. I would highly recommend this to someone looking for racing wheels.
