The Logitech G Pro has been around for about two years now, and I’ve finally had the chance to get my hands on the G Pro Racing Wheel and Pedals. In this article, we’ll find out how it really performs on track, take a closer look at what it brings to the table, and ask the big question, is it actually worth it? I’ll be putting it through some competitive testing to see how it stacks up against the more established brands, and most importantly, whether it justifies the price tag.

Who Is This Wheel For?

This wheel is aimed at a broad audience, but it will likely appeal most to console players. While competing brands offer stronger ecosystems and more aggressive pricing, the limited options available on consoles give the G Pro Wheel a solid edge, especially for PlayStation users.

Although the bundle isn’t exactly budget-friendly, it’s a major step up from a G29 or other entry-level wheels. For PC sim racers, the competition is much tougher with more alternatives on the market, but Logitech brings something unique to the table that others don’t: TrueForce.

TrueForce

TrueForce is Logitech’s advanced force feedback system, processing game physics and audio in real time at 1,000Hz, and in some cases, even up to 4,000Hz. Unlike traditional force feedback that mainly delivers basic vibrations, TrueForce connects directly with supported games to deliver a much more detailed driving experience. You’ll feel things like:

• Engine RPM changes – You can literally feel the revs through your hands.

Road texture – From smooth tarmac to aggressive curbing, the difference is noticeable.

• Tire slip and grip – Get instant feedback when traction starts to break away.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure how much of a difference it would actually make, but after testing, I was genuinely impressed. The extra detail made the whole experience feel more immersive than most wheelbases I’ve used. And just to clear up a common misconception, TrueForce isn’t a separate system. It’s fully integrated into the core force feedback, enhancing it rather than layering on top.

This advanced integration makes TrueForce a standout feature, but when you look at the broader market, how does the G Pro Wheel really stack up against the competition?

Market Overview – How Does It Compare?

The console direct drive market is still fairly limited, with only a few manufacturers offering PlayStation-certified wheelbases. The Logitech G Pro Wheel sits firmly in the premium category, priced at €949.99 for the PC version and €1,099.99 for the PS5 version in Europe, or $799.99 and $999.99 respectively in the U.S., and that’s for the wheelbase and steering wheel. The standalone wheelbase itself is listed at €749.00 in Europe and $699.00 in the U.S.

When it comes to price per Newton meter (Nm), it’s on par with its competitors. That said, there’s a noticeable gap between regions, around $70 per Nm in the EU versus $64 per Nm in the U.S.

That makes it a better value for buyers in the U.S., at least for now. But let’s take a look at what you actually get in the box for that price.

Unboxing: What’s in the Box?

Logitech has done an excellent job with packaging and presentation. The box is well-designed, and everything inside is securely packed.

Included in the package:

• Wheelbase

• Cables (power and USB)

• Desk mounting accessories

The overall packaging feels premium and protective, one of the best I’ve seen in terms of both presentation and security. It reflects the same level of care that’s gone into the product’s design and build quality.

Design and Build Quality

The design is sleek and professional, using high-quality materials that give it a premium feel. That said, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. The stitching on the wheel feels a bit rough, which can become uncomfortable during longer driving sessions. While the wheelbase isn’t overly large, I still had to make some adjustments to get it positioned just right on my rig.

These are small issues, but worth noting if comfort and setup flexibility matter to you. The same goes for the G Pro Pedals, they look and feel high-end, but when it comes to performance, there’s definitely room for improvement.

Logitech G Pro Pedals

The Logitech G Pro Pedals are built well and feature a clean, professional design. They feel solid and premium, giving the impression of a high-end product. However, they fall short in one important area, built-in adjustability. There’s no native way to tweak pedal travel or stiffness. The brake pedal does include elastomers to help with feel, but I ran into a few issues.

The Logitech G Pro Pedals are priced at €389.00 in Europe and $349.99 in the U.S., placing them in the premium category alongside other load cell setups. They feature a 100kg load cell brake, more than enough for even the most demanding users.

The brake pedal feels too soft in the first 10% of travel, no matter which elastomer combination or software settings I tried. The throttle pedal has a similar issue, there’s very little resistance at the start, which makes it too easy to press.

This seems to come down to the soft springs used in both pedals. I tested every elastomer combo and the included springs, but the issue persisted, especially on the brake. Yes, you can add a deadzone to mask the problem, but for me, that’s a dealbreaker.

I get it, this product is designed for a wide audience, and there’s never going to be a one-size-fits-all pedal set. Logitech clearly aimed to make these pedals versatile and accessible, which makes sense. Still, at this price point, I would’ve liked to see more built-in adjustment options, similar to what other brands offer in this range.

Most casual users probably won’t notice or care, but for me, the lack of tuning options made it hard to get the consistency I expect from a premium pedal set.

To fix it, I installed a small 0.3mm rubber insert into both the brake and throttle cylinders. That simple tweak made a big difference, improving initial response, adding stiffness, and making both pedals feel much more controlled and predictable.

With the pedals sorted, it was time to set up the G Pro Wheel, and thankfully, that part was as straightforward as it gets.

Setting Up the G Pro

Setup is as simple as it gets, just plug and play. However, dialing in the right force feedback settings takes a bit of trial and error. Logitech’s recommended settings are a solid starting point, but they won’t be ideal for everyone.

One important note: Force Feedback Sensitivity set to 1 really didn’t work for me, especially when using less than 70% of the total FFB strength. At that level, the wheel loses a lot of detail and responsiveness, making it feel vague and dull. I highly recommend adjusting the sensitivity to suit your preferences rather than sticking with the defaults.

To explain sensitivity in simple terms, think of it like the brightness on your TV. If you turn the brightness down too low, dark scenes become muddy and you lose details. The same thing happens when force feedback sensitivity is too low, you miss out on subtle cues, and the overall feel becomes disconnected. So treat the default settings as general recommendations, not one-size-fits-all solutions.

Direct Drive: How Does It Perform?

My first drive with the G Pro Wheel was solid. TrueForce delivered a unique and detailed feel, but I did notice a slight delay in the force feedback compared to my usual (and more expensive) wheelbase. After several days of testing, I found the performance to be consistent overall. However, during some races, it felt like certain incidents could have been avoided with a more responsive base, that slight delay can make a difference in high-pressure situations. To really see what this wheel is capable of, I ran a few test sessions. First, I did a couple of stints at Fuji International and compared the G Pro directly to my daily-use wheel. Then, I took it to Spa for longer runs to see how it handles over a full lap in a more competitive setting.

The base proved to be consistent, though I can only really speak to that consistency because qualifying conditions were always changing. Still, despite the variables, I managed to put in some very competitive laps. Later I placed in the top 0.09% of all drivers in this event, finishing 89th out of over 91,000 participants. That result confirms the G Pro Wheel is more than capable of delivering top-tier performance in a competitive setting. However, I repeated the exact same test with my usual wheel and noticed a few key differences, which only reinforced the early impressions I mentioned at the start of this article.

What’s surprising is that I haven’t seen anyone push this wheel to its limits at a high level. Most reviews focus on general impressions or casual testing, rather than deep performance analysis. With all that in mind, here’s my final verdict.

Is It Worth It?

The Logitech G Pro Wheel is a well-built, high-performance direct drive system with solid force feedback, a premium design, and an easy plug-and-play setup. However, it does come with some drawbacks. The force feedback response could be slightly sharper, the pedal set lacks hardware-based adjustments, and the stitching on the wheel may cause discomfort over long sessions. For console players, especially those on PlayStation and Gran Turismo 7, this is one of the best available options in the market due to the limited competition in the space. While the pricing is high, it offers a huge step up from entry-level wheels like the G29. However, for PC sim racers, the competition is much tougher, with alternative brands offering better ecosystems and often more competitive pricing.
